heyup just got to starting on the golf its at home the min on the drive so work on it has been slow just got the seats taken out door cards off gettin ready for painting. thankfully a mate at work is gonna let me keep it his garage big enough for spraying and working on so things should move along abit quicker  just wondering though im putting an mfa 160mph dash in and was wondering if you need owt special to work it or does it just plug in and go, mines a 1.6 driver and does have twin plug dash in already its just the stalks are abit differnt from mfa ones, cheers heres some pics of what shes lookin like at min.

I'm liking the look of this project

chunkymunkey003 - March 21, 2008 12:29 PM (GMT)
ye there is i just havent done any photos yet. wanted to get a few before adding.
erm been to halfords and bought a cheapo jack and axle stands so could lift it off the floor abit, all well and good, BUT the jack you get in the set doesn't lift high enough to get the axle stands on there highest :planet: STUPID HALFORDS
im over that know anyway  iv got all the shockers off bar 1, need to lend proper kit from work, shaft is just spinning when undoing nut, rear axle is almost off just need to bleed brake fluid so i dont make a mess. im off machine mart when i get paid to buy myself an engine hoist to get old lump and gearbox out in 1, then all the wiring can come out and engine bay can be cleaned up. that reminds me does anyone know how to take front seatbelts off, its the bit with the height adjustment i cant get the adjuster knob off to get the B-pillar trim off from behind it
i think thats it, photos will be coming soon

chunkymunkey003 - March 30, 2008 06:28 PM (GMT)
well with the good weather today i got up and built my hoist, got the engine and all subframe out, can get some work done on my G60 lump now

Patch - March 30, 2008 08:56 PM (GMT)
Are you going to hire a spray gun and compressor?
Might be worth building a makeshift tent around it,don't want anything to land on it while it's drying.

chunkymunkey003 - March 30, 2008 09:01 PM (GMT)
ye think im gona buy a compressor for some air tools and painting it, ye 3x3 metre tents are like 50 quid on ebay  and ust hire a infra red heater

nayhorn - March 30, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
if it turns out well............................. dont spose u wana do another mk2 in black do ya hahahaha  :yabba:

Patch - March 30, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)
Don't forget to get some spare pannels to practice on,it's a fine art spraying. To close it looks crap,to far away and it costs you more in paint.

nayhorn - March 30, 2008 09:13 PM (GMT)
