Title: How far are you willing to travel?
bula_82 - June 8, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
How far each way is classed as South East? And how far would you be willing to travel for a meet? :)
PhillT - June 11, 2007 06:46 AM (GMT)
I'd happily travel 50-60miles
any more 'may' be a bit of a struggle depending on dates/times of the meet
as far as I can tell, this is technically south east england
bula_82 - June 11, 2007 08:28 PM (GMT)
Essex isn't on there  :blush1:
Bout an hour or so then
PhillT - June 12, 2007 06:33 AM (GMT)
:d1: that'll be 40 minutes in the VR! :rasp:
bula_82 - June 17, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
Phil, my South east map is completely different to yours!
Im thinking possibly Guildford way?
Looks about an hour for each of us and were either side, so cant be much longer for anyone on the outskirts.
I'll start looking for locations
M15 VW - July 4, 2007 05:25 AM (GMT)
Guildford is about 2 hours for us. Is this definitely where the meet will be held? Depends what time the meet will be I guess for us. Will try to at least make one of them.
PhillT - July 4, 2007 11:01 AM (GMT)
 Guildford's good for me, some nice roads on the way there
but they've knuckled down with car meets there, If the meet gets big then a relocate would definately be on the cards
got my first fine at guildford actually :blush1:

Where abouts are you from?
Phill, dont really want to be moving the meet if it gets big, may need to rethink.... before i do so, do you know of anywhere else that would start being funny about meets if they were too big?
PhillT - July 4, 2007 10:13 PM (GMT)
errr.. Slough! but I wouldn't recommend going there anyway :noway:
makes Essex look posh that does
bula_82 - July 5, 2007 08:13 PM (GMT)

Looks like on on the mission for somewhere else then.

we are in deepest darkest kent. Bluewater meet was banned the other night. Venues are getting scarce. There are two good ones that I know of....The wharf pub (which does good food and has a fab view) up by bluewater and brands hatch. ...just a thought.
autocab - October 29, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)

bula_82 - September 29, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
sorry, i missed this
there's a grand total of about 3 people in our area for a meet, and thats if Phill wants to join us :err:
most people down south seems to be a little unsociable
Volksdevil - September 30, 2008 01:10 PM (GMT)
I think one of you southern members should find a cool place to hook up and grab some pics etc... :thumb:
Helen - September 30, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
I agree, theres a great place round the corner from Thurrock services (think thats what its called, near the Orbital ring road (M25), then Southend.
Furthest Ive gone for a MEET was York to the VW Summer nights meet once when I gatecrashed in my Clio

There is a large car park, which makes for some nice summer evenings outside talking all things VW.
